ABOUT US

Located at Road 10, Brgy. Bagong Pag-asa, Quezon City, the Bagong Pag-asa Elementary School continues to serve as a center of learning, growth, and excellence for young learners in the community.

Established in 1955 as an annex of Bago Bantay Elementary School under the leadership of Mr. Saturnino Magturo, the school began with only 248 pupils and teacher-organizer Mr. Jose Manongdo. Classes were first held in privately rented rooms with limited facilities. Through the united efforts of the PTA and the support of President Ramon Magsaysay, the first two-room prefabricated school building was constructed by the army, marking the beginning of the school’s steady progress.

On December 4, 1957, Bagong Pag-asa Elementary School became an independent school under its first principal, Mr. Pio Gatus, with 30 teachers and a growing population of 1,912 pupils. In the succeeding years, dedicated school leaders and supportive stakeholders worked hand in hand to improve the school’s facilities and educational programs. In 1963, through the leadership of Mrs. Felisa F. Doria and the strong support of the PTA, the Quezon City Council funded the construction of the school’s first concrete two-storey building, inaugurated in 1966–1967 by Mayor Norberto S. Amoranto.

Further improvements continued through the years, including the construction of additional school buildings and the enhancement of the campus environment. The commitment and dedication of the school administrators, teachers, parents, and community members helped shape the institution into what it is today.

At present, Bagong Pag-asa Elementary School remains committed to providing quality, inclusive, and learner-centered education. The school continuously adapts to modern educational trends by integrating technology, strengthening literacy and numeracy programs, and promoting values formation among learners. It actively participates in academic contests, sports competitions, and community-based activities that develop the talents and skills of its pupils.

Today, the school proudly stands as a nurturing educational institution that promotes academic excellence, discipline, creativity, and community involvement. Guided by passionate educators and supported by active stakeholders, Bagong Pag-asa Elementary School continues to inspire young minds and prepare learners to become responsible, productive, and future-ready citizens.
